Children dancing at camp

Bringing hope to the hopeless and love to the unloved…

…so they can walk by faith into the life they were meant for.

The MoveMeant Messenger:

A Sanctuary for Children Caught in the Chaos of Addiction

At The MoveMeant Messenger, we believe in the transformative power of healing, resilience, and hope. We understand that children impacted by addiction face unique challenges and often carry burdens that no child should bear. That's why we're creating a nurturing and empowering environment designed to support, uplift, and bring children closer to God.

Our camps will serve as a safe haven…

…a place where children can find solace, build lifelong friendships, and discover their God given potential and strengths.

At The MoveMeant Messenger, we want to surround our campers with an opportunity to break free from the cycle of addiction and create a life filled with possibility and happiness. We’re taking a holistic approach that addresses each child’s spiritual, emotional, physical, and educational needs. Our day camps will offer a wide range of engaging activities, therapeutic programs, and educational workshops.

We’ll empower our campers to overcome…

…to be resilient in the face of adversity, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and envision a brighter future.

From art therapy and outdoor adventures to building life skills and hearing the Gospel, our campers will leave stronger and better prepared to handle the hardships they face at home. They’ll know they no longer have to suffer in silence or feel alone in their life journey. The MoveMeant Messenger will create a comprehensive experience that fosters personal growth, resilience, and self-confidence.

The MoveMeant Messenger operates solely through the generosity of compassionate individuals like YOU.

By supporting The MoveMeant Messenger, you are directly investing in improving the lives of children. You’ll be offering them a chance to reclaim their childhood and build a foundation for a life with Christ. They’ll have a better chance for a bright and promising future.

Together we can make a difference.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11

Our Mission

“But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.”

Luke 8:15

There is a way that we, the community of Christ, can help. We can help heal and strengthen the children of trauma. We’ll help them visualize a life greater than what they currently experience. We can be the good soil for these seeds to grow.

The MoveMeant Messenger will provide a caring environment that nurtures positive, healing experiences.

A child experiencing the trauma of living with an addicted parent is not lost. Children who participate in positive experiences do better than children who aren’t exposed to positive experiences. Positive childhood experiences act as a shield to protect against the negative consequences of trauma.

Additionally, the children affected by parental addiction often don’t have the same opportunities as other children. They are less likely to go to sports camps, church retreats, or extracurricular activities. We want to give children access to the positive environments and mentoring they may not otherwise get to participate in.

The MoveMeant Messenger will host monthly day camps for any child affected by addiction.

Our mission is to create lasting impressions and change the trajectory of the lives of children impacted by addiction. Through camp, we’ll provide healthy meals, fun activities, and a healing environment. Children will be able to develop friendships and connect with mentors. We’ll support them with inspirational messages and teach lessons from the Gospel.

A unique aspect of camp will be the exposure to vocational skills. We’re excited to have multiple professionals who are ready to volunteer. Some of the skills children may learn at camp include:

  • Woodworking, welding, and mechanics

  • Homesteading and financial life skills

  • Fitness and health

  • Gun safety

This is the opportunity to mobilize resources and help change the trajectory of children’s lives.

About Us

“Traumatic experiences tend to do one of two things in our lives: cause us to fail or drive us to overcome. Thankfully I had great mentors, determination, and lots of prayer that helped me succeed.”

~Natalie Tanase, Founder of The MoveMeant Messenger

When I was about six years old, I wrote a letter to Santa…

I didn’t ask for a bike, a pony, or a trip to Disney. I asked for my mom to get the help she needed. My mom lovingly cared for me, but after a hysterectomy, she was prescribed too many pain medications. Without my father around she was already in a hard place and ended up addicted to opioids. Her addiction made everything worse. Her addiction robbed me of my childhood.

My story has a happy ending thanks to the multiple positive influencers I’ve had throughout my life. The parents of friends, mentors, church leaders, and even bosses helped me through tough times. They showed me a vision of what I wanted for my life and for my family. They taught me to be strong, to overcome the trauma of my past, and to believe in Jesus.

Through my relationship with Jesus, I was able to reconcile my pain and suffering. I was able to find hope for my future. I was able to build a life and family based in faith.

Now, I want to bring that same hope to kids experiencing the trauma of addiction.

Hi, we’re the Tanase Family!

We’re a family of five with roots spread between Romania, Texas, Argentina, and Italy! We met married, and established our family in Oregon and are now building our life in Texas. We enjoy spending time in the beautiful outdoors of Texas Hill Country. You can find us cheering on our boys at sports, playing in the water, hosting friends, or enjoying local restaurants, and celebrating this life with our Faith Community!

We founded The MoveMeant Messenger because as parents ourselves, we are motivated to do something to help reach kids in their most challenging time. Our non-profit organization, located outside of Austin, is based on the need to improve the lives of children impacted by parental addiction.

We’re taking our years of experience serving in various ministry roles, including children’s ministry and campus pastorship to create a unique experience outside of the traditional church setting. We realize that some kids may never enter a church or attend a church, sports, or enrichment camp. The MoveMeant Messenger camps will be an opportunity for outreach to this underserved group of children with programs that deliver a message of hope and equip them for life while having a blast!

We’re excited to have you join us on this journey!

We’re currently developing land to host the first MoveMeant Messenger camp.

We’re also building partnerships that span the country.

Our goal is to launch our first camp in Austin by the fall of 2024.

(Eventually, we’d like to help kids in all fifty states!)

With your generosity, we’ll ignite a spark of resilience, healing, and transformation in the lives of worthy children affected by addiction.
